Preschool News - Summer 2007
We're excited to have Barb Sitton join our staff as our new teacher's aide for the fall! Barb has been active in
the District #96 Schools and has been working at Ames for the last two years. We're thrilled that she has
accepted this position with us!

Even though PreSchool has closed its doors for the summer our on-going social outreaches continue. Our
hope is to raise awareness about the impact of our personal recycling choices. So, please don't forget to save:

1. Aluminum cans for the homeless at BEDS--(we donated over $500 last fall thanks to you and matching funds
from Riverside Bank).

2. Plastic Rings/can holders for our closed recycling program

3. Cancelled commemorative stamps for Illinois Bird Sanctuaries

4.  Campbells, Pepperidge Farm & Swanson labels too!
It's summertime, and the livin' is supposed to be easy--but not at the Riverside Presbyterian PreSchool!
There's a huge project going on: the replacement of the ceiling & lighting in the PreSchool wing! This was a task
much bigger than anyone anticipated and we're forever grateful to the following for packing/moving;
tarping/taping. They were an army! Kristine Adler, Debbie Brand, Lisa Carlson, Josh Fulton, Jennifer Gentile,
David & Vaughn Hilpp, Angela Izzo, Holly Kinnan, Dodi Krug, Lisa & Loren Manganiello, Julie & John Stack, Amy
Shevitz, Marta Vacek, Peter Wengerski, Melinda Yachnin and the following Senior Highers: Benji Corpus,
Hannah Cronin, Jacob Gregus, Alex Krug, Dylan Krug, Pat Leary, Craig Mueller, and Joey Vuolo.

The PreSchool's Capital campaign: "Big Plans for Little People" started over 2 years ago. Over $26,000 has
been raised! The playground has beenre-surfaced with rubber mulch, peeling painted walls have been repaired
and painted and the ceilings/lighting are being replaced by Schander Construction. While 36 years of
accumulation of equipment and toys are safely stored in a POD, we're hoping to give the whole place a face lift
with a new coat of paint. We were honored when over $10,000 was donated in memory of one of this year's
most wonderful Moms: Carrie Chorzempa. This project is a work of love and she would have been so pleased
that it is going forward.

Our theme for the 2007-2008 year is "Up, Up and Away!" We are grateful to so many for this Capital Campaign!
It shows that the sky's the limit when we work together!
