Wednesday Night Comes Alive at Riverside Presbyterian Church!
Wednesday Night Live! is a non-denominational intergenerational event for
newborns to ninety-year-olds All are invited to share a fabulous dinner, choirs,
youth activities, and education classes. Invite a friend or neighbor! The fall
session will run from October 1 to November 19.
This fall in Wednesday Night Live! we willl be exploring the best selling book of all
time...the Bible. Adults will grapple with how it came to be regarded as
significant. Who wrote it? Why was it written? Who made copies of it and why?
This series will explore what you really have in your hands when you grab that
book out of your pew rack, and the keys to interpreting the pages therein. Kids
and youth will start to figure out how the contents of the Bible make sense in their
modern lives.
The cost for WNL! is $40 for adults and $20 for children, a maximum of $100 per
family. This cost provides for the meals we will share together and for program
supplies. Checks can be made out to Riverside Presbyterian Church. Help us
prepare for WNL! by filling out a registration form.

Presbyterian Women
Bible Study
“JUBILEE! Luke’s Gospel for the Poor” is the theme for 2008-2009.
JUBILEE! Highlights some of the unique aspects of Jesus’ life and
teaching found in the Gospel of Luke. The word “gospel” is an old
Anglo-Saxon word meaning “good news.” This gospel, of course, is
about Jesus Christ, but the four New Testament gospel writers tell the
good news in different ways. Study books are available. Please
contact Dorothy Jansky, at (708) 447-7855, for more information.
Lesson 3 "Debts are Forgiven" will be on November 12 at 10:00 a.m. at
the Scottish Home with Joyce Van Cura as discussion leader. For
those who would like to stay for the buffet luncheon ($12) please
contact Elizabeth Musick.
There will be no Bible Study in December. The January meeting will be
January 28 at the Scottish Home, Lessons 4 and 5.
Coordinating Team
The Presbyterian Women’s Coordinating Team will meet on November
6, 10:00 a.m. in the Westminster Room.
Next Gathering
Join us on Wednesday, December 10, with a 12:30 luncheon at the
Scottish Home and a musical Christmas program by Karena Mendoza,
RPC's Artist in Residence.
Pecans
The Presbyterian Women will be selling pecans during the coffee hour
in November. A one-pound bag is $7, with proceeds going to the Team
Tutoring Program for college-bound high school students at the Erie
Neighborhood House.
