Passport to the Promised Land - Our Children's Sunday School
Children from kindergarten through eighth grade participate in Passport to the
Promised Land rotational Sunday School from 9:00 – 9:50 during the school
year. In the rotational model children experience the same theme for five weeks,
in five different ways, using a wide range of styles – from theatre to art, to cooking
to games. Each class has two Shepherds who accompany them to the various
classes, providing a consistent presence for the children. Register for the 2009-
2010 school year now!
Childcare
Childcare for infants and toddlers is
available from 8:45 – 11:45 on Sunday
mornings. Preschool childcare is also
available. During the worship service
preschool children are invited to a
Sunday School class tailored to this
age group. Parents are the best judge
of their child's readiness to attend
worship or class; preschoolers can also
remain in the childcare room.
Cub Scouts
RPC is the charter organization for Cub Scout Pack 24. All boys in first
through fifth grade, who reside in the Riverside Public School District, are
eligible to join.

RPC Preschool
Riverside Presbyterian Church Preschool provides a quality preschool
experience for children ages three through five. Classes meet Tuesday
through Thursday for either a morning or an afternoon session.
The Covenant is the theme for
the Sunday School year. What is
a covenant? Who in the Bible
made a covenant with God?
How does a covenant fit in our
daily lives in this century? Still
rotating through different
teachers and rooms with games,
crafts, storytelling, art, music
and more – but also looking and
learning in depth at the
Covenants in the Bible and
those we have with Christ.
Passport to the Promised Land
March continues with lessons about The Good Samaritan. Ask your kids what
ways they have learned to be more of a Good Samaritan .
Luke 10:29, 37 Who is my neighbor? The one who showed mercy. Go and
do likewise.

Godly Play
Children from kindergarten through second
grade have their own worship service, which
takes place after the Children’s Sermon.
Known as Godly Play, it is Montessori-based
worship education that recognizes that
children have the potential to experience God
in deep and meaningful ways.
The goal is to encourage that potential
through the telling of Bible stories and allowing
children to work with the story materials.
Leaders, Greeters and children worship
together utilizing song, sign language, artwork,
and prayer as responses to God’s love.
Godly Play is very structured with an order of
service following that of traditional worship
including a feast (communion) on the first
Sunday of each month. Godly Play is
structured specifically for younger children’s
developmental stages.
